Privacy notice

Who we are

Splice Computers (Pty) Ltd, trading as Venuo, a product of Yielde (registration 2019/272712/07), 55 York Street, George, Western Cape, 6529, South Africa (“we”). This notice explains how we handle personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

This website

This site has no forms, sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. Its fonts and files are served from venuo.co.za itself; it loads nothing from other websites. If you choose light or dark mode, your browser remembers that choice on your device; it isn’t sent to us.

The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver and protect it, under its own terms.

The “Start your pilot” button only opens your own email app with a message to us. Nothing is sent until you send it.

If you email or phone us

We use your name, contact details and what you tell us to answer you and, if your venue becomes a client, to run our agreement and invoice you. Our email is hosted by Google, whose servers are outside South Africa. We keep correspondence for as long as we need it for that purpose, and invoices and agreements for five years, as tax law requires.

If we asked your venue for permission to contact it

We may email a venue’s published enquiry address once, to ask whether it would like a demo (POPIA section 69). We keep a record of that request and of the answer, so that we never contact a venue again without its consent. If a venue answers no, or asks us to stop, we never contact it again.

The desk's own pages

Venue owners open the desk's pages (at app.venuo.co.za, and earlier at app.desk.yielde.dev) from signed links in the desk's emails. These pages set no cookies, keep nothing in your browser and run no analytics. Each link carries its own permission and expires, so there is nothing to sign in to. The desk receives enquiries and sends replies from its own addresses at desk.venuo.co.za (earlier desk.yielde.dev).

Service providers the desk uses

To answer a venue's enquiries, the desk uses these service providers, each under written data-processing terms. All are outside South Africa:

• Cloudflare receives enquiries and stores them (in the European Union);
• OpenRouter, with Anthropic's Claude on Amazon Bedrock or Google Vertex, reads the date and details of an enquiry (in the United States) and keeps no copy;
• Resend sends the replies and the owner emails (in the United States).

The desk keeps an enquiry and its reply for 90 days, then deletes them. A record without the message text (dates, times and status) is kept for 13 months.

Couples who enquire at a venue that uses Venuo

The venue is responsible for its couples’ enquiries. We process them for the venue as its operator, under a written agreement, only to answer the enquiry. Please read that venue’s own privacy notice: it explains what happens to your information, including the service providers outside South Africa that the desk uses.

Your rights

• You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our use of it.
• Write to hello@venuo.co.za or call 063 611 2952. We answer within 30 days.
• You may complain to the Information Regulator: inforegulator.org.za.
